Sherburne Lumber sits on the historic Butterfield property located at 56 Coburn Rd in Tyngsboro Ma.
The first record of a sawmill on the property dates back to March of 1775. Since the early 1800’s the property has been the location of a sawmill, a gristmill and even a cider mill. Water was used to power the mill for many years until the early 1900’s when gasoline engines were brought in for power. In September of 1923 a fire was caused from the gasoline engines destroying the mill. It was then rebuilt on the footprint of the old mill.
Through the years Sherburne Lumber has remained a family owned business that has stood the test of time and survived fires, the Great Depression and the big box stores.
Today we are a full service lumberyard and hardware store. Many of our employees have been with our company for over 25 years and have the knowledge and the caring that you will only find when dealing with a family owned business.
